Sexy starts in the kitchen. You're probably thinking, where the heck is she going with this?! Well, to be honest, it ALL starts in the kitchen! Do you want to look good, feel good and just feel sexy inside and out?! You have to cook. You have to prepare your own food. You can't rely on going through a drive through somewhere or grabbing a box of Lean Cuisine from the frozen food section of your grocery store.
I love to cook. I love when people love what I cook. But being a mom, I don't have time to cook like I used to. In this case, I love making smoothies and I love when people tell me they follow my posts or that I inspired them to get healthy. That's my main goal here. To inspire!
I get it, you're busy too! I had a very hard time managing trying to prepare healthy food for me and my family and trying to take care of 2 babies under 2! There were days where I didn't brush my teeth (I'm sure many moms/dads can relate to that!!) The first 8-9 months of having a baby, from my experience, are the most difficult. There is no schedule, and one hour is different from the next. You have to keep an open mind and know that as long as you try your best to put the best food in your body, it will all pay off! There were days where all I had was a smoothie. I would forget to eat, or I didn't have time to prepare anything. Smoothies became my lifesaver after both babies were born =) I would prepare them in bulk when I had 10 minutes to spare, and freeze them. That way, I had them ready whenever I needed them.
Another important thing to remember is to keep your eye on the prize! I thought I would never feel the same or look like I did, pre babies. Well, I don't look the same, but I feel awesome and I feel sexier than ever! Every day gets better. The baby weight is melting away. I don't work out. I do try to get out there and move and stretch when I can, but you will not find me in the gym... it's not in my cards right now, and that's OK!! I eat well, and that is the most important part in losing weight and feeling your best sexy self. It's not about how much you work out. It's about the quality and quantity of food you put in your body. And it's up to YOU!
Side Note: Just to give you an idea of where I have been (weight wise) over the past 10 years, I'm 5'3"... I was at my highest of 147lb when I was 20, all because of eating crap that I 'thought' was healthy for me! Pre-baby weight (2 years after I started eating a whole food plant based diet) I was at 127lb. I gained between 35lb and 40lb with both pregnancies. Now, post 2nd baby, 5 years later I'm finally starting to cook again and consistently between 130 and 135lb.
