Day 9 - Now is the perfect time for this post... 3 Days until the “big day” aka Christmas. Do yourself and someone else that you cross paths with a favor... look them in the eye and smile and say hello!! Or have a great day or merry Christmas/ happy holidays. Being kind and being mindful will help you chill out during the hustle and bustle of your busy day!! It feels good. And if you feel good, it’s like cleansing! Healthy happy mind, healthy body. SPREAD THE LOVE and HAPPINESS!! On the 8th day of cleansing Mary gave to me...!!!! Make a colorful plate!
Day 8 - for at least one meal a day, make your dish with as many colors as possible, like a rainbow! Using only foods of course ... no artificial colors allowed! In the pic above, each color vegetable has it’s own benefits. It’s green beans, red beets, and butternut squash Mac n “cheese” - using mashed butternut squash as the cheese and gluten free brown rice rotini, and shallots. So yum!! Purple (beets) are known for healing powers,beneficial for blood pressure,cardiovascular, and overall heart health. Orange and yellow vegetables are higher in vitamin c among others which help immunity. And the green - well... you know! Greens are great 😊. On the 7th day of cleansing, Mary gave to me....!!!! Eat something GREEN today!!
Cook it, blend it, juice it, whatever... dark leafy greens (kale, beet greens, collards, lettuces, spinach, bok choy... and so many more...) are some of the most cleansing foods out there. When consumed, imagine them taking toxins and free radicals with them as they pass through, cleansing you from the inside out. There are so many benefits of greens. Make them a part of your daily diet!!! On the 6th day of Christmas Mary gave to me....!!! Turn off the electronics! Give yourself the opportunity to decompress at least 1 hour before wanting to fall asleep. Put your phone on Do Not Disturb, leave it across the room, or in a different room... pick up a book or just do tasks that don’t involve electronics.
More good sleep = more cleansing! On the 5th day of cleansing, Mary gave to me....!!!! STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES! Or shrooms... or colors in the sky... or your kids belly laughing and having a good time.... all of the above! Take it all in!
It all has to do with SERATONIN. Day 5 - during the hustle and bustle of your day, don’t skip or miss opportunities to take in very special and beautiful moments, just like it did with the mushroom pictured above. I saw this on a casual lunch break walk one day. It’s gorgeous! Doing this will trigger a happy chemical, like seratonin, to flow... which is made where... your gut!! It affects digestion, mood and sleep... all huge proponents of CLEANSING!!! Recap: By Day 5 you should be doing the following - stopping to smell the roses, nix at least one sugary drink or coffee/tea for more water, eat at least one whole food meal a day, take deep breaths, drink room temp water upon waking before anything else! On the 4th day of cleansing Mary gave to me....!!!! Substitution!
Day 4 - most people do not drink enough water a day. You may be dehydrated without even realizing it. If you’re drinking 2 or more cups (8oz - 16oz) of coffee or tea a day, or 1 or more soda or juices a day, I challenge you to substitute one of those drinks for a glass of water! Eventually you’ll be drinking more water, which promotes more hydration and more cleansing! On the 3rd day of Cleansing, Mary gave to me!!!
Day 3 - Make at least 1 meal a day be exclusively whole foods. It’s not that difficult people! You can do it! Make a smoothie, eat oatmeal and add nuts and berries, if you eat meat, eat chicken and rice and a veggie. Just make sure none of it comes in a box or bag that shows ingredients other than the single food you are eating! Take my example above. It’s whole rolled oats, added cinnamon, ginger, cashews, almonds, dates, and spinach - here is a way to sneak in a green too!!! You cant taste the spinach and you’re adding a green too! Recap: Day 1 - room temp water Day 2 - breathe! And drink lots of room temp water! Day 3 - at least 1 whole food meal, breathe deep and drink lots of room temp water! Day 2 of pre-Christmas cleansing!! Just Breathe!
Upon waking up in the morning, before getting out of bed, take 3-5 slow deep breaths to expand your lungs, think of gratitude for waking up and take in the day ahead. Now... If you're suddenly woken up by a screaming baby/child, or something else, OK...As soon as you settle down, then take your breaths! This will certainly set your day up on the right track. You may ask, what does this have to do with cleansing? Everything! The entire time you sleep, your body and mind is cleansing itself. When you wake, deep breathing will not only help wake you up, but it will remove the carbon dioxide from shallow/steady breathing all night long and you will take in more fresh oxygen. Fresh oxygen helps clean your blood too... clean blood means less dis-ease! It's all connected! To recap... On the first day of cleansing, Mary gave to you - Drink 30oz of water in the morning!! One the 2nd day of cleansing, Mary gave to you - Take deep breaths and drink lots of room temp water! In honor of the 12 days till Christmas, I’m here to provide you with 12 important yet easy things you can do to cleanse your system every day!
Day 1 - Before going to bed at night. Fill a 30oz glass of water to drink in the morning as soon as you wake. It’s important to drink at room temp, or even warm. And it’s important to drink before eating or drinking anything else. This is the cleansing factor! Drinking water from a glass and not plastic is ideal to avoid any plastic by-particles which can be absorbed in the water. Drinking room temp or warm water is ideal because when you drink ice cold water, your inisides tense up and contract making it harder to actually cleanse your system! Logically speaking, when you drink room temp or warm water, your insides are loose and at ease basically, making it easy for your insides to cleanse! To increase the cleansing factor, add fresh organic lemon to your water. |
