Makes 40oz or 5 cups

2-3c water
1/2c beets (mine were pre-roasted, but you can also use raw)
1T coconut oil
1T apple cider vinegar
2-3 celery stalks
slice of lemon
1/2 avocado
1 ripe green pear
1/2c frozen mixed berries
2c spinach
2 large romaine leaves
1/2c pineapple
Stevia to taste

This smoothie is super detoxifying!  From the beets to the coconut oil to every single ingredient in this thing (aside from the stevia), but you get what I'm saying!

By consuming beets you can reap the benefits of essential antioxidants as well as reducing inflammation within your body... They also help your body to, literally, excrete toxins!

Coconut oil increases your metabolism.

Berries contain tons of antioxidants, again, to help rid your body of free radicals and/or toxins... Just one cup a day to reap the benefits!

Spinach and Romaine ... they are GREENS!! Need I say more?!

Lemon helps cleans the liver!

Get cleansing!

Makes 22oz or 2 servings

1-2c water
1 heaping Tbsp raw cacao powder
2 heaping Tbsp organic peanut or other nut butter
2-3c kale
1 ripe banana
1 packet vanilla stevia extract (optional)

Variations:  My banana wasn't sweet enough so I added the vanilla stevia sweetener, or you can add a dash of vanilla extract.  You can also use vanilla almond milk, but I don't like to use that too often because its processed.

Oh, and your kids will like this one too as it's all the sweet and salty and chocolaty flavors in one!

Makes 30oz or 2.5 servings

Slice of lemon
1/2c frozen or fresh mango
1c pineapple (bought fresh, then I cut up and froze it so it would last longer!)
1 Granny Smith apple
1/3 cucumber
2c baby spinach
2c or 3 big leaves of green leaf lettuce

I don't know about you, but here in the Northeast region of the U.S., we've been getting slammed with snow this winter.  I'm starting to go a wee bit stir crazy being cooped up in the house!  My 2 year old is old enough to go play in the snow, but my 10 month old is not, so I've been stuck inside with him most of the time.
Now is the most important time to increase your vegg intake, so your mood doesn't go to crap!!  Yes, I will continue to say this, food effects your mood!  Dark leafy greens and colorful vegetables are super important to ingest in abundance in the winter to avoid slipping into a depressed state!
With that said, keep on making those green smoothies!!  Stay warm!

xoxo,
~Mary
