Makes 24oz or 3 cups

1 cup organic unfiltered apple juice
3 celery stalks
1 large handful curly parsley
2 cups kale
2 cups baby spinach
1 ripe green pear
1/2 banana
2T apple cider vinegar added to a single serving

Today's Sexy Ingredient:  Apple Cider Vinegar!
This fantastic little supplement contains:
  • Tons of vitamins and minerals
  • It's great for detoxification
  • Provides relief from arthritis, digestive disorders, sore throats and indigestion!  Great for those pregnant women who have awful heartburn and want a holistic, natural remedy!
  • It boosts your metabolism!

How does it do all of this?  It helps to break down food particles that contain essential nutrients to help your body absorb what it needs most.

How much to reap the benefits?  Just 1 to 2 Tablespoons daily!  Mix in your smoothie, dilute with water or just shoot it!

Makes 32oz or 2 cups

1-2c water
1/2c fresh mango
1-1.5c frozen mixed berries
1/2c pineapple (bought fresh, then I froze it)
1 banana
2c kale
2c baby spinach

Today's Sexy Ingredient:  Pineapple!
  • Pineapples contain bromelain, manganese, and vitamin C
  • Bromelain aids in digestion and helps keep your track 'clean' and moving smoothly... which as a result, gives you more energy to do other things your body needs to do, rather than putting all of your energy into digesting food!
  • It's an anti-inflammatory - many benefits here, in regards to autoimmune disease, bowel issues, arthritis, too much acidity in your body...
  • Manganese is a trace mineral essential to overall health - it helps to absorb calcium, it helps your thyroid and sex hormone functionality, and aids in generating healthy bone structure.
  • Vitamin C - supports a healthy immune system, helps cardiovascular system, and it's thought to help with wrinkles!!

Want to know how to trick your kids into drinking a green smoothie?!  Add spinach to their favorite yogurt 'smoothie'.

Salvatore has been drinking my green smoothies since he was just a baby.  Now, his palette is getting a tad bit picky... This works every time!!

Pour their favorite yogurt smoothie (example in pic) and a handful of baby spinach and blend away!  They will NOT taste the spinach... I promise!  Then hide it in a cup so they can't see the color, for example the "Take n Toss" brand as all different color cups with straws.  Or, better yet... put it back in the same yogurt smoothie container!!

I'm not going to mention today's 'sexy ingredient' because that's just weird with a post like this!

Happy blending!
~Mary

Look at the beautiful color!  The reason?  Red Beets!

Makes 40oz or 2 servings

.5 cup organic unfiltered apple juice
1 cup water
1 small raw red beet, skin peeled
2 celery stalks
2 cups of kale**
2 cups baby spinach**
slice of lemon
1-1.5 cup chopped pineapple
**Kale is more bitter, so for less bitterness, use less kale and more baby spinach

Today's Sexy Ingredient:  RED BEETS!

  • Did you know that red beets are an aphrodisiac?!  They contain high levels of boron, which produce sex hormones.
  • They cleanse the body - this is a MUST for staying sexy and feeling good by purifying your blood and cleansing your liver
  • They are high in fiber, magnesium, iron, potassium, Vitamins A and C and folic acid
  • They make you feel good on the inside!  They contain tryptophan - which helps to create seratonin, which makes you happy!

I got my wisdom teeth out yesterday.  I'm afraid to get anything caught in the pockets, so this is where my breakfast smoothie comes in handy!! It will keep me full because of the oatmeal in it...

Makes 16-20oz

1 cup vanilla almond milk
1 cup cooked steel cut oats (or use regular rolled oats)
1T organic maple syrup (or more to taste)
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4-1/2 tsp ginger (use less or more depending on taste)
1-2 cup kale (gotta get my greens in!)
Add ice if you want it cold (I did not)

Todays Sexy Ingredient:  Cinnamon

  • It reduces bad cholesterol (LDL)
  • It's a natural food preservative
  • It contains fiber, calcium, and manganese
  • It reduces menstrual pain
  • It regulates blood sugar

Makes 5 cups or 40oz

2 c water
2 celery stalks
1 c or 1 handful of parsley
1/4 lemon
1 c of each: kale, dandelion and baby spinach
1.5 c green grapes
1 banana

Today's Sexy Ingredient: CELERY! Don't waste the celery leaves... Throw them in your smoothie! Unless of course you buy the prepared/washed/chopped type from grocery store.

Guess how you can benefit from just 1 celery stalk?!

  • Reduce inflammation
  • Calm you down and lower your cortisol (stress hormone) levels
  • Regulates your alkaline balance, and essentially reducing acidity within your body.
  • Aids in digestion with its insoluble fiber and so it keeps things moving!
  • Can boost your sex life! Yep, that's right... There are pheromones released when you chew celery.
