Smoothie and then a espresso... that is my daily regimen! Thanks to my hubby for the new mug, I have room for multiple shots of espresso :)
Picture
This is BY FAR my favorite smoothie, my husband and kids also love it!  What's not to love about peanut butter, banana and chocolate?!

Makes about 30oz

2c vanilla almond milk** (if using water, add in a dash of vanilla extract!)
2 heaping tablespoons of peanut or other nut butter
1 heaping tablespoon of raw cacao nibs
2 large handfuls of baby spinach
2 dandelion green leaves
2 large tuscan kale leaves

**I do try to avoid using store bought almond milk because it is processed and has 'iffy' ingredients in it, but once in a while is ok.  Anything in moderation, right!?  Just keep eating (or drinking) your greens and it will help purify your system of any 'iffy' free radicals.

Makes 22oz

1/4 cucumber (peeled)
1c flat leaf Italian parsley
1/4 or 1/2 tsp fresh grated ginger
2 or 3 celery stalks
1c kale
1-2c baby spinach
1 to 1.5c organic unfiltered apple juice
slice or 1/4 lemon

Today's Sexy Ingredient:  GINGER!
Ginger is an awesome anti inflammatory ingredient to anything - tea, soups, stews and smoothies!

  • It's said to help with menstrual cycle issues
  • Will help an upset stomach (Remember your mother pushing ginger ale on you whenever you stomach hurt?!)  Well, the fresh is best!
  • It's said to help with arthritis (as it's an anti inflammatory!!)
  • It's said to have aphrodisiac properties!
  • And most importantly, it helps your body absorb beneficial minerals and nutrients from other foods.

..........All stuff to keep you feeling and looking sexy!!

Makes 5 cups or 40oz

2 c water
2 celery stalks
1 c or 1 handful of parsley
1/4 lemon
1 c of each: kale, dandelion and baby spinach
1.5 c green grapes
1 banana

Today's Sexy Ingredient: CELERY! Don't waste the celery leaves... Throw them in your smoothie! Unless of course you buy the prepared/washed/chopped type from grocery store.

Guess how you can benefit from just 1 celery stalk?!

  • Reduce inflammation
  • Calm you down and lower your cortisol (stress hormone) levels
  • Regulates your alkaline balance, and essentially reducing acidity within your body.
  • Aids in digestion with its insoluble fiber and so it keeps things moving!
  • Can boost your sex life! Yep, that's right... There are pheromones released when you chew celery.
