This type of smoothie is always my GO TO for when I'm feeling bloated, nasty, sluggish and just need a good "detox"!!!  The lemon and ginger are great detoxifiers.

Just look at the pics and how gorgeous all of the GREEN colors are!  Nothing but goodness :)
Makes 1 or 2 servings:

1 or 2c water
1 big handful of curly parsley
1 big handful of fresh baby spinach
1 big handful of frozen spinach (I used this because I ran out of baby spinach)
2 celery stalks
1 green apple
slice of lemon
nub of fresh ginger (I store this peeled and in the freezer, so I simply cut off pieces whenever I'm ready to use it)
1 ripe kiwi (ripe when soft)
1 banana OR stevia to taste (optional for extra sweetness)

The picture is pretty but this smoothie was not so good! Haha. I definitely think it could be better if I added a few less of some and more of other ingredients. So, here is just a base recipe for you to take away today, but know that it's not good as listed below! I will fool around with these ingredients another time to try to make it better. In the mean time, here you go!

Makes 1 serving:

1c raw yam
4T coconut flakes
1c water
1 vanilla stevia packet
1/2 banana
1c frozen spinach.

Makes 1 serving or 20oz

1 or 2c Vanilla almond milk

1c or 1 handfull frozen organic spinach

2 large romaine lettuce leaves

2 or 3 Tbsp unsweetened coconuts flakes

Optional: stevia to sweeten to taste or 1 ripe banana.

Tips: I didn't have fresh spinach so I used my reserve frozen spinach in a bag. Also, I didn't have a ripe banana but I bet if I used that I wouldn't have to use stevia.

Makes 30oz

1-2c water
1c pineapple
1/2c frozen green grapes (I froze them after buying fresh to preserve them!)
1 thin slice lemon (like you would add to a lemon water)
2c beet greens (I bought a bunch of golden beets to roast and saved the greens for my smoothies!)
2c spinach (whole leaf or baby spinach is fine)

TIP:  I'm on a more tighter budget than I have ever been due to having 2 kids in full time day care, so instead of buying packaged pre washed baby spinach, I'm opting for the bulk whole leaf spinach for less than 1/2 the price!  Sure, it's a tad more time consuming to wash, dry, store vs pre packaged kind, but I gotta do what I gotta do to get my greens in!!  Also, at Whole Foods, they sell loose beets (without the greens), and instead I opt for the bunch beets with their greens still attached, all so I can add them to my smoothies!

Cheers =)
