This type of smoothie is always my GO TO for when I'm feeling bloated, nasty, sluggish and just need a good "detox"!!!  The lemon and ginger are great detoxifiers.

Just look at the pics and how gorgeous all of the GREEN colors are!  Nothing but goodness :)
Makes 1 or 2 servings:

1 or 2c water
1 big handful of curly parsley
1 big handful of fresh baby spinach
1 big handful of frozen spinach (I used this because I ran out of baby spinach)
2 celery stalks
1 green apple
slice of lemon
nub of fresh ginger (I store this peeled and in the freezer, so I simply cut off pieces whenever I'm ready to use it)
1 ripe kiwi (ripe when soft)
1 banana OR stevia to taste (optional for extra sweetness)

Makes 40oz or 5 cups

2-3c water
1/2c beets (mine were pre-roasted, but you can also use raw)
1T coconut oil
1T apple cider vinegar
2-3 celery stalks
slice of lemon
1/2 avocado
1 ripe green pear
1/2c frozen mixed berries
2c spinach
2 large romaine leaves
1/2c pineapple
Stevia to taste

This smoothie is super detoxifying!  From the beets to the coconut oil to every single ingredient in this thing (aside from the stevia), but you get what I'm saying!

By consuming beets you can reap the benefits of essential antioxidants as well as reducing inflammation within your body... They also help your body to, literally, excrete toxins!

Coconut oil increases your metabolism.

Berries contain tons of antioxidants, again, to help rid your body of free radicals and/or toxins... Just one cup a day to reap the benefits!

Spinach and Romaine ... they are GREENS!! Need I say more?!

Lemon helps cleans the liver!

Get cleansing!

1c flat leaf Italian parsley
1/4 or 1/2 tsp fresh grated ginger
2 or 3 celery stalks
1c kale
1-2c baby spinach
1 to 1.5c organic unfiltered apple juice

Today's Sexy Ingredient:  GINGER!
Ginger is an awesome anti inflammatory ingredient to anything - tea, soups, stews and smoothies!

  • It's said to help with menstrual cycle issues
  • Will help an upset stomach (Remember your mother pushing ginger ale on you whenever you stomach hurt?!)  Well, the fresh is best!
  • It's said to help with arthritis (as it's an anti inflammatory!!)
  • It's said to have aphrodisiac properties!
  • And most importantly, it helps your body absorb beneficial minerals and nutrients from other foods.

Makes 5 cups or 40oz

2 c water
2 celery stalks
1 c or 1 handful of parsley
1/4 lemon
1 c of each: kale, dandelion and baby spinach
1.5 c green grapes
1 banana

Today's Sexy Ingredient: CELERY! Don't waste the celery leaves... Throw them in your smoothie! Unless of course you buy the prepared/washed/chopped type from grocery store.

Guess how you can benefit from just 1 celery stalk?!

  • Reduce inflammation
  • Calm you down and lower your cortisol (stress hormone) levels
  • Regulates your alkaline balance, and essentially reducing acidity within your body.
  • Aids in digestion with its insoluble fiber and so it keeps things moving!
  • Can boost your sex life! Yep, that's right... There are pheromones released when you chew celery.
